Save the Date: Swiftsure Sailboat Race & Coffee Social

On Saturday, May 25, Clover Point will be filled with over 200 sailboats from all over the Pacific northwest as they take part in the 76^th annual Swiftsure International Yacht Race.

Newcomers and their guests who would like to see the event are invited to meet at Connie Allen's home (151 Olive Street) at 8:45 a.m. At 8:50 a.m. sharp, Steve Allen, who has sailed in Swiftsure, will accompany you two blocks to Clover Point to help you make sense of the seeming chaos of 200 boats jockeying for the best starting position.

There are five race starts at ten minute intervals starting at 9:00. Those who are members of either of the VENC walking groups who wish to join Steve for the races will also be able to join their group for the walk as they go by Clover Point shortly after 9:30. Those not walking are invited to return to the Allen's home for coffee and treats. After their walks, the two VENC walking groups will be meeting there for coffee around 10:30 and 11:00 so there will be plenty of people to visit with.

If the 8:45 start is too early but you'd would like to visit with your VENC friends, please come for coffee between 10 and 12.
