About the Club

The Victoria Evening Newcomers Club for Women (VENC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to engaging those who are new to the Victoria area by providing "insider" information about Victoria and its extraordinary lifestyle, organizing a variety of fun recreational activities and creating opportunities for new friendships to blossom.

VENC is:

  • targeted to women who have been living in the Victoria area for less than three years or five years if you have refugee status ( Note: the two pandemic years 2020 and 2021 are not counted! );
  • unique in providing activities and events that cater to all women whether working or not;
  • built on a foundation of personal interactions and relationship building; and
  • active in its use of technology, including a frequently updated website, to provide information about VENC events, the broader Victoria community and related areas of interest, such as food and dining, cultural interests, and more.

Your Commitment to the Club

VENC only exists because of its fabulous volunteers who lead activities, work on the executive & host events. We all need to contribute each and every year to keep this club vital, interesting and welcoming to new members.

There are many opportunities to do your part - maybe it's leading a walk, hosting tapas, becoming an activity leader, joining the executive or creating something altogether new. Your ideas are always welcome. All you need to do is contact our Activity Group Liaison. So please get involved!!

The activity groups are the heart of the Club and are a great way to develop friendships with members who share your interests. 

As a VENC member you are welcome to participate in any activity group, and you can join as many as you want. Learn more about activity groups.
